>>7877953I just moved to NL and went to the Phillips museum earlier today actually, so this was on my mind. Didn't know that Phillips was one of the huge pioneers in, not only technology, but was lead the charge even more so on the design front. Starting with a famous designer called Louis Kalff, they pretty much engineered the ads and "retro" technology look we associate with the different decades of the 20th century (from the look of the "cathedral radios" to the classic 1970s cassette players). Hell, they're still at it, but it's tougher to see historical/cultural impact until you've got some hindsight...
