>>7962670>No reason to move if it's working for youThe only thing that'll force the issue is when Microsoft, and every other tech company, get together and start requiring that ALL internet-connected devices, apps, and games, use more modern versions of the TLS protocol as implemented in windows 10 and 11 and any future versions of windows.
Thing is, windows 7 isn't really capable of using the latest versions of TLS, even with MS's own update patches installed, and so as happened last year when someone at MS 'accidentally' disabled access to the earliest versions of TLS on the XBox platform for third-party games like Minecraft, that action effectively temporarily cut off all Win7 users from the platform for a number of hours until early TLS version access was quietly re-enabled.
This is how tech companies like MS will force users to update in the future - their line to users will simply be 'either update to our latest products/OS's or there'll be no internet and online gaming for you'.
>>7962742>Windows used to be so good, fuck Microshit for ruining it.It all goes back to that old line about alternating versions of windows from 95 onwards either being great or a steaming heap of shit, e.g.:
95/NT3.51 - pretty good (for their time)
98 - pretty bad
98SE/NT4 - not too bad
ME/2000 - god awful
XP - 32-bit = good / 64-bit = truly terrible
Vista - abysmal
7 - really great (finally made the 64-bit version the 'go to' option)
8 - utter shite
8.1 - a bit better
10 - not so hot
11 - trying too hard to be MacOS...
