I think is artwork from some RPG adventure module. Imagine the scene: You come home late from work to find that you have inadverdently crossed a master of the Arcane Arts somehow. While waiting for you he has read the funnys in your newspaper and consumed your chips and beer to calm himself down. But your funnys weren't funny, your chips tasted bland, and he is almost out of beer.
