the speed and mass involved in such a collision make this an absolute certainty; what happens to both objects, and to the moving object in particular, after the initial impact and penetration is then entirely up to the physics behind the interaction of ALL of the materials that made up both objects
in this instance not ALL of the plane passed through the building, so while some of the larger heavier bits of it (e.g. the engines) did have enough mass and speed to pass through once they broke free of the plane, and in a damaged but somewhat recognisable form too, most of the rest of the plane simply disintegrated within the building and either remained inside the building or turned into much smaller debris blown outside of the building during the impact explosion and subsequent building collapse
this isn't rocket science, this is basic stuff
the real controversy/conspiracy in this whole episode is entirely political, all this other BS that focuses solely on the planes and the buildings is nothing more than a distraction designed to tie people up in knots so they don't concentrate on the real issues at hand
