>>7980255>>7980334>>7980335>>7980341Yeah lighting is definitely off and gives off a different vibe. There's only so much you can really do without knowing exactly how it's set up, like where the lights are in the scene, and which HDRI images he used for world lighting.
That, and it's also dependent on what the room looks like behind the camera. Whether or not it's enclosed makes a big difference in how much light enters the scene. I opted to keep it enclosed, which can contribute to the darkness.
The water is a bit better than a flat plane, but I still think it needs work. It's a bit too "slick" looking, and doesn't have quite enough transparency, and the edges where it meets up with the walls could use a meniscus so it's not just clipping into the walls. It'd be incredibly small, but probably would add a bit. I was also trying to get some nice caustics going to reflect off the walls and stuff, but that threw the lighting off too much and I opted to just not do it.
But yeah, if I have another hour to kill sometime, maybe I'll do an OC one instead of taking a bite out of OP. Seems kind of cynical and petty in hindsight, but those tiles really bothered me. Then again given the response from OP (I assume), I don't feel too bad about it.
