I still look at photos of it now and it looks really cool and can be kind of inspiring to look at, but I can think back to the nights of living there and walking around new areas that were exact konbinis, indoor malls, and clean crosswalks cut and paste across the massive surface area of the city. Combined with the keep-to-yourself Japanese culture there's this feeling being there where you're suspended in this kind of contentment that doesn't feel fulfilling ever but doesn't break you down like walking around parts of other cities at night. Hard to describe, maybe other anons who've spent some time there can relate or describe similar feelings.
