The left can actually be great at coming up with new ideas and plans, they traditionally tend to be the thinkers and the dreamers in society after all, but where the left quickly fails is both in being able to filter its good ideas from the bad ones, and then in the implementation of those ideas, thus when the left starts struggling to enact one of their ideas, be it good or bad, they ALWAYS resort to their default state of using identity labels (e.g. calling their opponents racist, or white supremacist, etc. even if that's clearly patently not true) and/or violence to try and solve their problems, even if it means openly fighting against other leftist groups.
Because ultimately that's the lefts great failing, it claims to be a positive force, and a good influence capable of greatness, in the world, and yet in reality it's not only perpetually self-destructive to the specific left ideology in play, but it's often globally destructive to everyone around them too.
And that's because it does divide whole populations into increasingly more specific identity groups instead of being actually inclusive to everyone (as it often claims to be), it then actively sets those groups against each other using violence to remove from society all of those groups it finds to be most politically inconvenient to achieving it's goal at that moment; but because the left are so thin-skinned, more and more groups quickly find themselves on the lefts shitlist for the least little thing, until there's almost nobody left to support the ideology, and do all the work, and generate all the money for the controlling elite, and so the whole thing violently tears itself apart.
tl;dr: The political left is a collection of ultimately self-defeating, globally divisive and destructive, ideologies created by a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals who lack the moral ability to filter actual good from bad.
