>>7993483It's Pittsburgh, taken from Mt. Washington. That's the historic Smithfield Street Bridge crossing the Monongahela River, from Station Square (foreground) into the downtown. Along the river (underneath Interstate 376, known locally as the Parkway East) is the Mon Parking Wharf, with its adjacent bike trail. The building in the background with the UPMC sign is the US Steel Building, at 67 stories, the tallest structure in Pittsburgh.
In front of it is the Bank of New York Mellon building (with the BNY Mellon sign), and immediately to the right of it, you will see a smaller building with a narrow white projection from its roof. That's the Grant Building, and that narrow white projection is actually a flashing light which at night spells out the word "Pittsburgh" in Morse Code.
More towards the left in the picture you will see a Gothic-looking glass tower. That's PPG Place, the former home of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass company, which today is PPG Industries (although I understand that recently they dropped the "Industries" part of the name).
Almost at the center of the picture you will see a street which you can see nearly all the way up. That's Wood Street, a one-way heading from town towards the river, which counters the one-way Smithfield Street, heading into town from the bridge.
What's unusual about this photo is that it looks at the city from a different angle than from the more iconic view from the Point, where the Allegheny and Monongahela rivers merge to form the Ohio.
There's a lot I've left out here, and other folks from the 'Burgh can point out additional features (or not).
