The Glastonbury thorn lasted for centuries, outlasting the dissolution of the monasteries and only got lopped down during the Civil War by an angry Puritan. They put it back in the 50s, and that lasted until the 2010s, a more recent replacement lasted fucking 16 days until someone chopped it in half and someone kept ripping out the new shoots.
Can't have shit. If the entirety of the medieval and early modern eras (until the English Civil War) with all it's constant low level violence could have such a tree survive but we can't even have something for a year it says something very poor about our current circumstances.
