>>8030133>Then you're fuckedHow so? And, maybe mention which distro you are referring to, and approximately which year(s) you had this experience. There have been absolute fucktons of problems solved in the past 5 years, so the problems you suggest may have been solved or have fixes available.
Anyone else want to suggest distros to try? And avoid? I've not tried one since about 2010 and am finally ready to jump in again. A solid website and community for support is essential, but nothing that requires hours of video watching to find one small tip. Got to have a searchable man and a written installation guide/walkthrough.
I want something that behaves very similarly to Win2K/WinXP/Win7, and fuck the bullshit windows since then. I'm not going to suggest anything, other than Mint & Mint Cinnamon were the last ones I tried (serious effort, but dabbled in SuSE, Kali, & Black Arch briefly) and they were a lot of what I wanted then, but were more than a bit kludgy and buggy so I stayed with Win7. Anyway, can't do that anymore and Win8 & 10 have fucked me over so hard I'm not moving to them.
Whatever distro, it needs to support virtualization and the ability to otherwise run various Windows programs. Nothing crazy, fairly normal utilities and such while I test & search for linux equivalents. Stuff like torrenting & *nix Office flavors native under linux already will replace microshitware programs.
I do lurk /g/, but it's such a daily speedrun of retarded /b/-tier shitposting I never seem to get traction on topics I need solid advice on. No need for detailed reviews, but a sentence or two with a recommend would be appreciated on a calmer, slower board like this.
