* Daz3D are the current owners/developers of the Bryce software, occasionally they do put Bryce 7 on sale at very heavily discounted prices:
* Daz3D are currently promoting their own product "Daz Studio 4" and a new plugin called "Ultrascenery 2" as a modern 64-bit alternative landscape/scenery creation tool to the older 32-bit Bryce 7.
Bryce 7 / Ultrascenery 2 -

https://www.daz3d.com/technology/* Bryce 7 does not work on MacOS 10.7 or higher. It likely will also not work on any flavour/version of Linux.
* Because Bryce (including v7) is only 32-bit software it can only make use of at most 2Gb of RAM, this isn't ideal for making large renders, however there is a patch program which will allow Bryce to run with approx. 3.5Gb of RAM on 64-bit versions of Windows, the patch program can be downloaded from:
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/large-address-aware.112556/* Even while running Bryce with the Large Address Aware patch, very large/complex renders can still cause the program to freeze/crash, so remember to save often, also note that Bryce 7 is only 32-bit software from late 2010, not some heavily optimised 64-bit modern 3D tool from 2023/2024, so while Bryce is quite fun/powerful/functional for its age, and it makes getting into 3D art somewhat easier and cheaper than other more modern tools, it does have some limitations.
* Daz3D run a Bryce community forum at:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/categories/bryce-discussion* Daz3D also still have a fairly large selection of Bryce-compatible plugins and custom terrains/textures/etc. for sale on their website.
