>wallpaper/wg/. save it. right click empty space on desktop; click sth like "display" or "choose wallpaper". should be easy from there. You could try and right click the image in your file browser as well.
>change whiskers menu button ("home")right click the button; sth like "preferences"; find current icon in pop up window and click it; choose another one (takes image files from your personal directories as well. Takes .svg and .png with alpha value)
>panel/sright click panel; panel settings; find the color settings; choose custom; add some transparency with the slider and/or use the eyedropper and take a main color from wallpaper.
You could create a 2nd panel with auto-hide containing your most used apps.
