For instance, my grandmother always made pizzelles in a press that left them with this gorgeous ornamental pattern. She'd put some food coloring in the batter, too, so some would be green and others red. I remember she put a little mint in the green ones, too.
They were delicious. Her press and the recipe she used are long gone by now, though. I think she just worked off of memory. I'd kill for a stack of her pizzelles, even just one last time.
