If you cannot navigate 7 and were never able to connect to the internet once you got on 10, you're kinda screwed. Microsoft doesn't know had 7 previously, because the system never connected online. The media creation tool won't help you until then. I think you get 3 free days of Windows 10 before it needs activating.
Which means you need to get that disc drive working, or buy a usb disc drive (if such a thing exists). Boot from that disc and install 7, if you still have that disc. Once there, connect online and upgrade to 10 if its still something you want. The upgrade from 7 is necessary, it's how you're gonna get 10 free.
Afterwards, I would return any tools you buy once you're there. I'd also make sure you have the driver cd that came with your Cisco wireless adapter, otherwise buy a new one.
