story: beep boop is a penodir, a robotic species created by a pseudodeity (anything powerful enough to be mistaken for a deity that hasnt actually undergone apotheosis) to earn him money on the black market by killing and dismantling sapient beings, who he would then sell on the intergalactic black market using one of his multiple bodies.
he kept the penodir loyal to him by telling them the people they were killing were just animals and then, when they got old enough to develop the critical thinking skills to realize what they were doing, physically and mentally resetting them to toddlerhood
eventually the penodir pseudodeity is murdered by a more powerful pseudodeity for relatively petty reasons and the penodir are liberated, but beep boop is one of four adult penodir from before that point.
beep boop found out about the resets when he accidentally stumbled across the radio frequency the pseudodeity was using to communicate with a colleague (penodir naturally communicate via radio waves - they can communicate vocally but many find it uncomfortable and choose to sign instead). to avoid being reset (again), beep boop fled penodir society.
its kinda hard to find legit work when your species is only known for murder, so beep boop is quickly shunted into the role of a space pirate for hire.
once he gets used to the fact hes killing other people, beep boop becomes one of the most feared and well known space pirates for hire in the intergalactic underbelly. made especially infamous by the fact that if a boss purposely harms or even disrespects him, he will shoot them then and there - no matter how much theyre paying him.
after a few thousand years, beep boop grows tired of his work and seeks to retire. his story isnt really too developed from here though
