Studying for a book. I'm pretty adamant about setting the story in 2001. The problem is, I was a little kid when the towers fell and caught up in my own world. I remember the Bush era, but I don't remember what the world was like before 9/11. I was wondering if anyone could explain to me in detail or in bullet points (either is fine) how things were different back then. So that I don't just have to say

Which I could totally do, but still. Ideally, these differences would be from an American perspective.
