does /g/ do troubleshooting?
i had an ancient apple SATA hdd connected by adaptor to my pc and i dropped it from my lap on the ground. i used different adaptors and it still doesn't work. it connects and it doesn't make sounds that are out of the ordinary but it's undetectable unless you twist it around at a certain angle where it briefly pops up as connected then gives a "location is unavailable" error. disk manager seldom displays it, and when it does it's for a fraction of a second.
i don't have a voltmeter or tools to open it up (yet), but there is no pebble/glass shaking sound within the hdd so at least i assume the discs are safe.
what do i do? i want to avoid repair companies
