Hate to be one of the newfags who ask this, but I am looking for some advice on a laptop. My last one took its last breath not too long ago but fortunately, it's that time of year when stores like staples inflate prices sky high and then drop them back down saying they are huge savings (back-to-school sale). Right now, I have it narrowed down to two acer laptops:
Aspire 3 with AMD A9 Processor ($250)
>15.6" HD screen
>6 GB RAM
>1 TB Hard Drive
and Aspire with Ryzen 3 Processor ($280)
>15.6" HD screen
>8 GB RAM
>1 TB Hard Drive
Main uses for this would be running multiple tabs on multiple windows (sometimes I forget to clean up), running programs such as gimp while said windows are open, and some casual gaming (Dark Souls being the most demanding that I have). I do not have any previous experience with AMD since the laptop I had was a Toshiba with an intel core, so just for the sake of knowing intel, I am also looking at an Acer Chromebook with an Intel Celeron Processor ($250) for farts and giggles, knowing that it has a 14" FHD screen, only 4 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage. I like the sheer amount of space of the first two and AMD seems big in the gaming industry so I doubt they are slow, but if the chromebook is more responsive or not as much of a battery drain, I might give that one a serious looking into. Any thoughts from people who are familiar with these? Outsider suggestions please be kept under $350 because I still have two years of college to go.
