Hey every one :] I was hoping for some tech help/advice in regards to routers/modems. I have a modem/router from my ISP that the people I rent a room from rent from our ISP. It has been a nightmare for the past year. Dropping wifi/tv signal almost daily as of the past month. I was hoping some one can help me in choosing if I need a new router or modem or both to maintain stability. I dont know much on this subject though I am saving up to go to school for it hopefully soon. I work at a best buy now and have a decent discount and figured now is a really good time to finally buy a new one, if it will help. Can some one help me deciding this? Please dont be afraid to ask for more non personal information to help me with this situation.
As of right now, it is me and 2 older married couple living in a trailer. The older gentleman doesnt work anymore and is on his computer scrolling facebook and random sites almost at all times. There are roughly 5 devices connected to wifi at a time. (My cell, my laptop, my raspberry pi, my xbox and the kind ladies old laptop she barely uses. oh and he has 2 printers set up via wifi connect) So its pretty heavy usage. The TV is on at all times pretty much as well. Please help in deciding if I should buy a new modem or router or combo. And if that will even help the problem. (also I will be buying a switch to hardline my xbox and pi into, so I wont be on wifi once I do this)
