before even breathing your next molecule of air, in another state, ensure you have a job where you intend to move. an income stream supersedes any savings you have. income is for spending, savings are for emergencies
also, consider using Craigslist (or an Iowa/Nebraska subreddit) to find shared living spaces, preferably one where the rent includes utilities. that would be your best option as a single person
