Air Gear is retarded, but also kino, up until it becomes shit. It was pretty stand out in it's time and if you grew up in the 00s like I did you will very much enjoy it, if for nothing more than the style.
Honestly there's a fuck ton of good doujin material from pre ~2014 that's spectacular.
If you are an otaku you've gotta break beneath the layer of shit the normalfags have created. Even right now there are Jap's create kino, you just have to hunt for it and learn a bit of Japanese.
The stuff I listed is by no means under the radar because of WHEN it was created, but you can find really great stuff if you keep looking.
