I'm thinking that warframe will be pretty fun for you guys. The grind doesn't feel too bad, especially if you're grinding for something with your friends/gf. It's f2p. Its also super comfy if you're on console. Not exactly new, but it's game-as-a-service, so it's consantly being updated.
Next, I'd say Ark: survival evolved. It was released in aug of 2017, should be fresh enogh for you.
Borderlands 3, once it comes out.
Probably any decent mmorpg (WoW, Elder scrolls online, etc...)
