>Minor amount of diet coke (few cl) A few cl is many standard teaspoons and a substantial fraction of a can of drink, like a sixth or a fifth. A single drop might be a minor amount. A few cl is not a minor amount on a laptop.
>User thought they cleaned it upSorry if it's your mum or something but user is an idiot. If user had disassembled the laptop maybe user could have cleaned it up. There's very little space between the usb port and the main circuitry and the ports are open holes that let fluids in no problem. pic related is inside of an old macbook with rights ports and main board. Laptops just don't have much empty space and anything that gets in goes somewhere important.
>until I figure out what to do with itDisassemble it. check for liquid, though it might have evaporated if things were glowing red hot, and be prepared to throw it away as the user has very likely burnt through a lot of components and created shorts and faults that won't go away without replacement which is just too expensive on an old device.
