It is incredibly, in fact -obsessively- detailed, names of commanders of individual units, maps showing movements of yards during obscure island battles, lots of focus on supply lines... that may sound boring, but it's not. It starts WAY before WWII as in their OCD way they feel you need to understand Pre-WW2 China before you're ready to understand the war, in detail. With charts.
