Hi guys
So basically earlier today I had an idea. An idea that could actually generate lots and lots of money. It would be in the form of a 2.5d "game" that I would release on Steam as well as my own website.
However I have zero knowledge on how to like, do anything involving programming. I need to start work on it ASAP because the idea is so amazing and simple that if I dont manifest it into reality someone else inevitably will. I'm really good at learning things and drilling things into my brain and I believe I could absolutely make this come to fruition, I just don't know where to start.
It isn't anything EXTREMELY complicated. It would be very similar to how Geometry Dash functions (think simple UI, settings, in-game "level" editor (far simpler than GD), servers to support "level" sharing and user interactions (that won't be extremely easy to fuck with like RobTop's servers were a few years back)). Although the level sharing and user interactions could wait until future releases, whats most important to tackle first is the in-game "level" editor. The game needs to be smooth and intuitive like GD, with the "level" editor being the generative point of where most of the games content comes from.
Someone with knowhow in this realm, please give me instructions for how to accomplish this. What engine would be best to work in, what programming language I should learn, yeah I guess that's basically it unless you can think of other major things I just focus on. I also need to stress that if I can realize my vision here, with the right marketing I would absolutely be able to generate $1M within the first year of release. The server things I could figure out once I have the initial groundwork laid down. I also need to reiterate that my idea is very simple, conceptually, technically and somewhat visually similar to GD Pre 2.0
I greatly appreciate any help ;w; I have immense faith in my plan here
