I will not outright say that interpreting an answer of 100% is wrong here, but at least we should be able to agree that it would be inconsistent if we accepted a simple and obvious answer of 1/3 here but turned heel and argued for an answer of 50% in the OP version. We can read a problem which states that something already happened and perceive the odds as 100% but it should be consistent across the board, otherwise there is a significant hurdle of logic and communication.
