>>566780are you watching anime for memes or do you want to legitimately enjoy it?
Do you want "high quality Japanese animation featuring epic battles and cute girls" or do you enjoy character development and well, whatever Ghibli films are comparable to.
basically even if you were to limit the anime you want to only the ones to just the ones that everyone on /a/ has heard of it'd take too long to list
anyway I'll list the most surface line shit you should know:
>Dragon Ball (Z) Iconic but the anime is actually pretty boring since it's fighting animations are usually just 3 frames looping, many of the fights drag on way longer than they should as well. If you have a fuck load of time go ahead and watch the whole thing as it was many people's first anime and even the most normie person you know has heard of it. Dragon Ball is arguably skippable since most haven't watch it anyways but /a/ will call you a z babby if you don't.
>Naruto (Shippuden)Watch Naruto then Naruto Shippuden. haven't watched naruto in a while myself desu but Shippuden is infamous for an ass load of filler content. still, despite it's mediocrity it has it's moments, but popular opinion is shit (the mainstream's favorite fight is literally the worst one in the whole series)
>Spirited AwayThe most popular Ghibli film. Studio Ghibli is often called "Japanese Disney". There's not much to say about it, just watch it.
other good ghibli films include:
>Princess Mononoke>Howl's Moving Castle>Kiki's Delivery ServiceI'll post a few charts from /a/ but the latest one I have was last updated in 2014. Also, I don't browse /a/ often and compare to the average person on /a/ I don't know jack shit about anime, I haven't even watched anything
>>566790 mentioned other than Spirited Away but I felt you should know about the most mainstream shit first before decending to whatever weeb genre you enjoy most
