If you're looking for a turn-based RPG without random battles and that isn't particularly grindy, I'd recommend The Last Remnant. It's difficult at first, but as you learn it gets easier. There are some parts with difficult boss fights back to back, but the PC version will warn you so you don't get stuck on one. People would beat one boss, save in the hallway, then run into the next boss immediately and get stuck since they can't leave the area. Also, I fucking hated it at first and thought I wasted my money but I came back to it a few months later and had a really fun time. Also, soundtrack is really fucking good. You might want to print out a guide if you want to 100% it, because you can miss a ton of shit.
