When i was about 13/14 i saw an animated 2d fantasy movie about a native-american-esque tribe that was being threatened by ogres/giants. A young tribe member is sent out to retrieve a powerful ''sun medallion'' which would save them.
The movie ended with the tribe doomed to be destroyed by the giants/ogres, chanting something involving ''for we are many''.
I remember it because it ended badly for the good guys, and it was an interesting inversion of the human vs monster trope, in that the humans were plentiful but weak compared to a small group of powerful monsters, like a reverse LOTR.
The tribe lived in fantasy-ish jungle-mountains if that makes sense, and the boy was sent into regular jungle to get the medallion. I specifically remember the words ''sun medallion''.
It may have had a good ending though, it was ages ago. Anyone have the slightest idea what movie i'm talking about? It's been driving me nuts for years.
