When it did have relevance, that was LLLongg Ago as it was one of the several predecessors to 4chan. After 4chan appeared, SA became less relevant unless you liked the longevity of forum posts unlike the fast deletion of /b/. There was also a Raspberry Heaven IRC channel that contributed some people to the early 4chan staff. And several staffers had been active at ELF (Ecchi Love Funhouse) which had image and text posting that was less forum-like and more like 4chan's streaming page style of posts.
