I still capitalize "I" some of the time, sometimes i skip that one. other than it being an accepted rule, most capitalization does not add anything to readability, and requires the effort of using the shift key, which for some people is a slight bother. so I dispensed with it. It's (oh look a capital) not to be cool or smart or anything, and it's regrettable that it triggers some people.
to add to the fun, here's what triggers me: cute language, like "perfect storm", "spot on", "automagically", "methinks", "bretty gud", and I could go on. the point is that I should not let shit like that trigger me, but it does. maybe you and I could sign up for therapy and get a group rate.
