So, I'm staying at a motel at the moment, and my internet is being provided by my phone's personal hotspot. I'd much rather be running off of the motel's wifi, but here's the rub: my laptop won't detect the motel's wifi signal. It WILL detect every other wifi signal in the area. But it refuses to detect the motel signal. My phone detects the motel signal just fine. Everybody else in the motel is apparently using the wifi.
So far I have, rebooted my system.
Powered system off and then on.
Uninstalled/reinstalled network adapter
Tried to google an answer and come up with nothing that has helped
Even got the motel to reboot their router
NO DICE
Anyone have further suggestions?
I'm running windows 10
I suspect my system might be detecting the motel wifi as a "hidden network", but I have no proof of this, and when I type in the motel network info to try and log into said network it flatly refuses.
