So that large capacity is often freeexactly. why get the XXX$ more expensive version of the phone with 1tb storage when you can simply insert the 1tb card in the 128gb phone and be just fine? another plus is the fact that moving the card was almost all the data transfer you had to do. you just install the apps again log into your accounts and youre good to go.
you dont need to connect cables to the phones wait for data transfer synchronise clouds etc
this, of course doesnt really help the industry because why let you do all of that when you can pay more for more memory, and then pay again, monthly, for measly 200gb increase in ICloud or GDrive storage.
