- Download the .exe for Windows
- it will appear on the desktop (and you should never move it from there)
- double click on it
- it will do stuffs and disappear, at this point you don't need to click on it again but keep it on the desktop.
before starting, ignore all the " symbols i use, don't type them with the commands.
now :
- type "cmd" on your windows search bar bottom left
- click on it and the Windows command prompt will pop up
- type "cd desktop"
- then type "youtube-dl" put a space and now put the link (you can copy the Youtube link and right click on the command prompt to paste it), press "enter".
should look like this for example :
youtube-dl
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mco3UX9SqDAthen you press enter
- it will automatically download the video to the best quality available and place it on your desktop.
pic related is what happens after all this.
- sometimes but rarely it requires an update or it won't work, personally i just delete the youtube-dl.exe on my desktop and redownload it, redouble click it to activate it again.
