When myself and others here refer to a game, they are referring to the creative work as a whole, idea and creative expressions together. In such instances a game is not an idea, there is a significant distinction here. A game, as everyone else in this thread besides you is referring to, can be copyrighted because someone can else can't use the full creative work, they can only use the idea. Scrabble and Words With Friends aren't the same games, they are different incarnations of the same idea, but they are different games. I'm sorry if perhaps the language being used here confuses you.
