Ive been playing Monster Hunter World on PC for months now on my Lenovo Y720 laptop on high settings with great frame rate, but just last week my pc started playing games like shit. The framerate is absolute garbage less than 20 constantly. The sound also lags with the game and sounds like my speakers are blowing up when it does. Booting up games takes longer too, around 1-3 minutes compared to the 30 seconds it used to be. I noticed windows installed OneDrive and several Office 365 suites around the time my performance dropped so I uninstalled them and that seemed to help somewhat. Afterward I also lowered my game settings to low but its still lagging. I think the problem might be background programs that were installed by windows automatically, but im not sure where to check besides the task manager and it doesnt show a lot of unnecessary programs. Anyone know wtf is wrong? Ive had some suggestions on other boards like HDD failure, but Ive checked mine with crystaldisk and it says its fine. My laptop is also only just over a year old so I dont think thats the problem.
