Its type system is bonkers (every pointer is a void pointer, but everything still has a type, which can be incorrect or incompatible), its pointer system is bonkers (try making a 2d array without googling it), and the 2.7-vs-3.x thing smacks of IPV6. Python absolutely is not a beginners language, maybe it was fifteen years ago, but it is not now. For better or for worse, it's inexorably turning into Perl.
