Need a break and some help.
I've been at war for hours with a Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2PV (1.0, Micro ATX) mainboard because it throws a beeping tantrum and shuts down whenever you try and change the RAM. It came with a single 4GB 1600mhz 1.50v module and won't accept any other modules. We don't have unlimited RAM to try but the three modules we have are not broken. Here's the tactical battle overview:
>1x4 1600 1.50... the one it came with
>1x4 1600 1.65... beeping tantrum
>2x4 1333 1.50... beeping tantrum
All of them are Corsair DDR3. It works with the top one in either slot but it won't take any of the other ones in either slot, or even combined with the original module.
Beep beep beep (16 times or so) then shutdown, restart, and so on.
BIOS is updated and configured correctly. AMIBIOS beep code only knows up to 11 beeps and what it calls "constant beeping" which apparently refers to CPU/RAM/VRAM issues. It must be a RAM issue because the machine works fine but ONLY with that one particular module.
You are welcome to reply something like "just buy new ram you faggot" because it seems like the only option left, unless the mainboard is being a faggot for some reason.
