>>741694That should work well enough for what you're doing. If you really want to be fancy, cut the cat out of craft foam, etch detail lines into it, then do the whole shield in plasti-dip. Pic related is foam and plastidip.
Does the shield have to be cardboard? For not much more (or arguably less) work, you could cut up a plastic 55 gallon drum and make a functional scutum riot shield.
