>>762962With romance being the primary driving force over sci-fi/fantasy? The Aquarion trilogy (the first two anyway), Escaflowne, and Buddy Complex would be the closest ones to that description. If you're going for more realistic stuff.... Eh, I'll recommend you Junk Boy, I thought it was okay but if you don't mind some raunchy comedy you might like it. In terms of romance "strength"/being earned in the end then Zegapain, G Gundam, Godannar, Cutey Honey Flash, and Cross Ange very fucking strong. CA doesn't start as romance and most of its romance is in the second half but it's a very unique ride and in the penultimate episode the most epic love-powered smacktalk to the main villain cannot be overstated, but don't look up spoilers. If you do get into Aquarion I will warn you now the first series (Genesis) is heavily rooted in mythologies, the second series (Evol) is heavily rooted in fairy tales (if you find Sleeping Beauty problematic you're probably not going to like the main couple and yes there are several couples), and the third series (Logos) is heavily rooted in theories. I am not trying to come across snobby or anything, I know it is cliched to go "you must be this smart to get it", but Aquarion Logos is one of those anime you need too turn your brain on and study up on communication theories to really "get". Cutey Honey Flash is Go Nagai flavored Sailor Moon. The others are /m/'s ideas of romance to varying degrees of serious.
And I'll briefly mention Captain Earth. Pitz is adorable, even if you're bored with the rest of the things going on, this little guy is a walk cat video full of fluff. And he saves the day near the end! Not sure why he can turn into a human girl, maybe he just likes playing instruments.
