His hunting trips continue every weekend throughout the season, with him wanting to stalk game rather than hunt from a blind for the added challenge. He's unsuccessful until the very last weekend of hunting season, when he bags a deer. He poses with the deer and rifle for a photo that he sends back to his family. His mother and sister are disturbed, but his father congratulates him on discovering a hobby he enjoys.
After that, Sho and John petition to be roommates every semester and spend all their free time camping, hiking, and hunting, until Sho's time abroad comes to an end and he has to return to Japan. They shake hands, then after an awkward pause engage in a manly hug, promising to remain friends even though they live on separate continents now. Sho flies home and continues his studies, but gets his little sister to join him on his hikes and camping trips.
