Sounds more like a failing hard drive or SSD. Which has nothing to do with the power loss.
I use hybrid RAID 5 arrays on a NAS for everything important. ALso I keep multiple copies of different machines and some online in pwd protects RAR archives.
I have lost tons of stuff over the years to the odd hardware failure (usually the older HDD. I cannot remeber losing anything in the last 15 years or more
