I just installed SteamOS on one of my SSD's and I'm trying it out as a main OS since Windows 10 is losing support in October and I refuse to use 11. I have several issues I've run into since installing a couple days ago.
Here are my specs:
GPU: AMD RX 5700 XT
CPU: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core
RAM: 32GB
Can SteamOS run Wine? I've looked all over but I can't find any answers more recent than 10 years old and I have to assume SteamOS 3.0 is much different than previous versions.
Am I able to get AMD Software Adrenaline Edition or at least some comparable software for fan tuning? I really would like this so my GPU fan isn't just off at non critical temps.
I'm pretty much a newfag to Linux in general with minimal previous experience with Ubuntu, but is it pretty much just common that installing things downloaded from the internet is a pain in the ass? It feels like anything that doesn't come from Discover/Flathub just won't work. I've read that you can do a lot of things by running commands through bash, but I've had no success there either. I can't tell if this is because SteamOS is ludicrously restrictive or just doesn't have a lot of commands.
Throwing on a trip just for the sake of avoiding confusion in responses.
