I am hoping the hands have the palms facing the viewer and are flat like if you were looking at your own palms.
As far as size, I am not sure how it will look typeset. I can try throwing a lot of copies of a single demo image in a maid space and draw it in a grid like the OP to see how it looks on a page?
The hands would be inside brackets like the squares in the OP, but latex will draw brackets. If they are the size of characters that works. If they are somewhat bigger that works too because I can just draw two hands with raised and lowered fingers in a grid like the OP using a program called Senko MaidHelper that uses Latex (ancient computer software) as a display layer for Maid Space experiments.
