>>569444>but it isn't like the 90s where a card might just refuse to run a certain program entirelyHonestly with how unaware I am of AMD, I thought this might actually be a thing.I don't want a bugged out system with glitches every now and again. I was checking /g/ and there was a thread about Premiere Pro crashing on AMD chips more, but it's hard to tell whether that's just usual Intel vs AMD shitposting.
Huge thanks for explaining the benchmark differences. It's very, very helpful to understand that. You reckon that SSD will make a big difference in real world terms? SSD's as a whole are fast enough, aren't they? And in the end, they're just storing and opening your data if I'm not mistaken, so it doesn't seem like there's going to be a huge difference.
>Lenovo's stuff is pretty niceI've seen a few people say this, but in my own experience, I haven't really been fond of them. Nothing too drastic, they just sent me a dead machine and took like a month to refund me. That, and when I google their products around this range, there seem to be a bunch of results regarding a low TDP usage, and heavy throttling.
Just a bit torn now really, but all the help in this thread has assisted in narrowing down my choices. The two I linked are sort of the ones I have my eye on, just perhaps with a variation of the Lenovo by either going with the 530 with AMD, or the 720 which will have a better screen and build quality though is more expensive for the same specs
