I imagine you're never moving to CC for the same reason you won't keep using Windows. Sure, it will take you a little bit to get used to GIMP, but why not try it? It'll be free forever, it'll be updated forever, and it can absolutely make shitty edits for 4chan. That's one of the things I use it for. Regardless, if you need CS6 you can just run that on linux as well.
