>>304422Oh, it's worth mentioning that Akagi, just like Kaiji, rarely uses the default rules for any game they play and that includes Mahjong. There's always some kind of twist or special house rules. So in a way you don't have to know the rules, but in another knowing the rules helps you understand what's so weird about the game they're playing vs the normal version. It's not as hard for Kaiji since it's mostly games you should be familiar with, but Akagi is all mahjong all the time.
