Twenty years after the world ended, a young lone boy living on an island with his elderly grandfather discovers a young girl unconscious on the beach. After rescuing her, showing her around the island and learning that she escaped from a boat that kidnapped her, two people from a technologically advanced city arrive on the island demanding her location. Conan attempts to protect her, but she is caught and brought off the island. Conan makes it his mission to save her, going on a big adventure by himself, with nothing to go on but his determination, making friends along the way to find her location and bring her back.
Very fun adventure with a right amount of danger and underdog feelings. Also peak Miyazaki in animation and style.
