Hello /wsr/, I am new to this board.
I'm having networking issues. I moved into an apartment where the coaxial is in the opposite corner than the corner my computer is at. Because there are walls and wireless can be horrible, I am hard wired. My ISP is Comcast and I pay for up to 55mbps but average 55-60mbps.
As of last night, I started getting connection errors to various servers for various games. CS:GO I got banned from comp because I never connected to the server. I connected to a casual game but it took a while. I used
speedtest.net after this and my internet connection was a consistent 58mbps, upload 10-12mbps. Then I tried to play Rocket League. Either I couldn't load into the game at all or I would disconnect halfway through. This is true for online games or private games.
Even non-steam games. I tried logging in to a NCSoft game and either I couldn't get through or I was kicked after a couple minutes. I tried another game, Paragon, and played AI just fine but kept getting spammed by a "You are no longer in your party" notification, when I wasn't in one in the first place.
My roommate's PS4 is hard wired but he hasn't reported any issues around this time.
Before I went to bed I ran Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware. MWB caught two items, one trojan from my registry and something else. SAS found various cookies.
Any ideas? I believe networking permissions have changed on my computer but that is well past my working knowledge.
Modem is provided by Comcast, coaxial that comes out from the wall is female so a splitter is in place (came with the apartment).
Thanks for any and all help.
