If you didn't find games exciting you wouldn't play them, and if the particular elements of violence and gore weren't exciting for you, then you wouldn't be rewarded with chemicals when you engage with those game mechanics. If those elements didn't excite you, you would play different games.
And yet, again, violent games don't make violent people.
